We contemplated staying overnight at Amistad, but since we don't have a boat and it was overcast and a "chilly" 72 degrees, we moved on down the road to Seminole Canyon State Park which is home to some of the most outstanding Pictographs (Rock Drawings) in the world. They are in Rock Shelters and are 4000 years old. On the way here on Monday, we read that tours are given Weds-Sun. We are pleased to find when we arrive that for the month of March tours are given daily!
We decide to spend the night and find a nice campsite. We are pleasantly surprised also that there is wi-fi available! Visitor's Center

A rock shelter
There are some interesting rock formations
It is the Fate Bell Shelter that we tour. Here is a rendition of the drawings done in the 1930's
and the real McCoy today - 4000 years old. The were able to carbon date them because bone marrow from deer was used in the paint pigment. They must have been of importance to use an important food staple for paint.
