The Final Stretch

After a very nice visit with Sean, Nichole, Madisyn and Sully we make the final stretch back to NYS following the Ohio River.

Only a couple hours from Gary's sister's in Painted Post and Breakdown!  Same hose that broke at the beginning of the trip!

Land Between the Lakes

Land Between the Lakes located between Tenessee and Kentucky.  Had planned to overnight at a campgound here but after driving over the river and seeing telephone phones in the middle of it, I called to the campground to see if it was open - found out it was under water so we opted just to visit for the day and continue on.

Spend the day at the Home Place with a period farm and buildings.

Take the Driving Tour to see Buffalo and Elk:

Corinth, TN

Continuing north with plans to visit Gary's nephew in Kentucky.  Stop over at Corinth, TN.  Had planned to do Nashville but they were underwater from floods.  Visited a Civil War Museum in town.

The Sidewalk leading to the Museum was "littered" with various civil war items cast in bronze.

Traveling the Natchez Trace

Start the Trek north from Natchez, MS via the Natchez Trace Parkway.  A Scenic byway through rolling hills and cypress forests.
